That was the first tweet about this idea. Before I launched I made this tweet and only a couple others. Which adds to the experiment. Who would see these tweets? No other promotion done except a brief discussion on the Nouns Square on November 5, 2022.

So I had no idea if anyone would even jump on board.

On the tech side, I was surprised how easily I was able to launch the project. I am not a dev; I don’t code. And none was needed. (however, some customization would be helpful for those with more experience)

🔨One of the settings is whether or not to retain a veto as the founder. I chose YES and would recommend everyone do so. This provides a safety measure that can be voted on later and removed. And I do want to test this feature not only from the mechanics but also what impact does that action have on members? There’s a great opportunity here to test out impacts in a low stakes way and I fully intend to do so.

🎨The biggest challenge was preparing the art. If I hadn’t been using pre-existing cc0 layers from NounsDAO, this would have taken much longer.

After selecting the traits to use, I did have to resize them. Existing available assets are 500 x 500 png and 600 x 600 minimum was needed (not sure max). So I did have to download photoshop to batch resize the files.

Once the art was ready, the rest was minutes to fill out a form essentially that sets the parameters of the auction. I set up a new wallet for this project. I seeded that wallet with .2 eth which was plenty for deployment costs and gas.

Once it was deployed a screen appears to start the auction. And that Start button caused some anxiety. 🦩NOTE: at least 3 other people using the builder noted this same feeling. Something to dig into. What causes this FUD? 🥺

I did not hit start until the next day. And it was nerve wracking for sure. Even though I have couched this as an experiment, and this was quickly spun up, you are putting yourself on the line when you hit start. Will anyone bid? Will I be the only one sitting here in this DAO? And lots of other internal FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt for the normies).

🦩NOTE: When setting up the parameters, the founder chooses the % of supply that will be allocated to the wallet used to create the project. Be sure to set up a new wallet for this. I set this at 6% of supply for the first 5 years. Token 0 of the project will go to the Founder wallet.
