tl:dr: Just the Flamingo: a DAO of Nounish Flamingos joining together to do something innovative and fun! A DAO experiment by @profwerder using @nounsbuilder, a recently launched no-code platform to launch an auction of generative art.
From Prof Werder: “The new @nounsbuilder promises an easy way to launch a DAO using an auction mechanism to seed a treasury, complete with governance tools. This seems like a great tool for my students to potentially use in the future so I wanted to understand the process. It’s helpful for me to do the thing I’m trying to teach.

So today I – ⌐◨-◨ I created and organized the art ⌐◨-◨ Set up the auction on nouns.build ⌐◨-◨ Deployed the contract ⌐◨-◨ And I now just have to click a button to launch the DAO
Keep in mind that I am not a dev – and I was able to do this in a few hours over the course of the day. This is now set up to run forever once I click start.
But what’s a DAO? It’s not the project I just created – that’s just the framework & tools for a DAO. The DAO is the people and what they decide to make of it. So this experiment does not yet have a goal or purpose. That will be determined by whoever decides to jump into this experiment.”
This will serve both as an actual DAO, as well as a bit of an academic experiment to observe what happens. All decisions regarding the treasury will be via Proposal by members of the DAO. The only requirement: keep it fun and nounish!
Each Nounish Mingo entitles the owner to join the DAO with one vote per Mingo. Auction proceeds will be held in the DAO treasury and controlled via proposals by the holders. The purpose and activity of the DAO will be determined by its members.
